Cross-device browser-based cognitive assessment platform enabling healthcare providers to identify mild cognitive impairment and dementia through gamified testing interfaces.

As a Senior Web Engineer at Neurotrack, I contributed to the development of the Exams product, a cross-device compatible, browser-based platform that delivered gamified cognitive assessments to help healthcare providers identify mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer's disease, and other dementias. My primary focus was frontend development of the user interfaces and implementation of the assessment experiences themselves.
Clinical Trust: Neurotrack creates clinically trusted, patient-preferred digital products that enable healthcare providers to identify and address cognitive decline without delay.
Accessibility Focus: The browser-based approach ensured that cognitive assessments could be administered across any device, removing barriers to testing and expanding access to early detection tools.
Patient Experience: Gamified testing interfaces made cognitive assessments more engaging and less intimidating for patients while maintaining clinical accuracy.
Legacy Desktop Interface: One of my largest contributions was adapting the existing desktop-sized assessment interfaces to be fully mobile-responsive, ensuring clinical accuracy was maintained across all screen sizes.
Cross-Device Compatibility: Developed responsive interfaces ensuring consistent assessment experiences across desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices while preserving the integrity of cognitive testing protocols.
Touch Optimization: Redesigned interaction patterns specifically for touch-based inputs while maintaining the precise timing and accuracy requirements of clinical cognitive assessments.
Gamified Test Implementation: Built engaging, game-like interfaces for cognitive assessments that maintained clinical rigor while improving patient engagement and completion rates.
Real-Time Assessment Delivery: Developed frontend systems for delivering timed cognitive tests with precise measurement and data collection capabilities.
User Experience Optimization: Focused on creating interfaces that were accessible to patients across different age groups and technology comfort levels.
Vue.js Implementation: Built responsive assessment interfaces using Vue.js with TypeScript for type-safe development and better maintainability.
Modern Tooling: Leveraged Vite for fast development builds, Vitest for testing, and Pinia for state management across complex assessment flows.
Component Library Integration: Utilized Vuetify components while customizing them to meet the specific requirements of clinical cognitive testing interfaces.
Early Detection Support: Contributed to tools that help healthcare providers identify cognitive decline earlier, enabling more timely intervention and care planning.
Provider Accessibility: Enabled healthcare providers to offer cognitive assessments in various settings without requiring specialized equipment or software installations.
Patient-Centered Design: Helped create assessment experiences that patients found more comfortable and engaging compared to traditional cognitive testing methods.
This work at Neurotrack demonstrated the intersection of healthcare technology and user experience design, contributing to tools that make critical cognitive assessments more accessible and effective for both healthcare providers and patients.
