Promotional Graphics for the Calgary Sports Car Club
The Calgary Sports Car Club is one of Alberta's most active motorsports organizations, running stage rallies and test events throughout the year. I was brought in to create promotional materials for their 2024 rally program, which meant designing assets that needed to work both as print pieces and as shareable digital graphics across their social channels.
Event Poster
The main deliverable was an 8.5"x11" poster for the 2024 Cochrane Winter Rally. Rally posters have a specific job: communicate the essentials quickly (date, location, how to register), signal the right competitive energy, and still look polished enough that the club is taken seriously as an organizing body. I built the layout around a strong typographic hierarchy with a high-contrast treatment that reads clearly even as a small web thumbnail, then made sure the file was print-ready at full resolution for physical distribution at events and car club meetings.
Test Day Branding
Alongside the poster I adapted the WCRC logo format to create distinct branding for the club's Summer and Winter Rally Test Days. The test days are non-competitive driving events that attract a different mix of participants than the stage rallies, so giving each season its own visual identity helped the club communicate which event was which without needing to explain it in every social post. The summer version used a warmer, more energetic palette; the winter version shifted to cooler tones that suited the season and conditions. Both were built in Illustrator as fully scalable vector files so they could be applied cleanly across signage, digital graphics, and eventually apparel if the club wanted to go that route.
The club was happy with how the materials turned out and felt the designs gave their events a more professional presentation without losing the community feel that makes rally sport what it is.
