Interactive flooring visualization application built on the Renoworks Visualizer platform, allowing users to digitally replace flooring in photos with catalog products.

As a frontend developer at Renoworks, I worked on The Floor Project, a specialized application designed specifically for the flooring industry. Working with Renoworks' backend visualization technology, I developed frontend interfaces that allowed homeowners, designers, and retailers to visualize how different flooring products would look in real spaces before making purchase decisions.
The flooring industry faced a common challenge: helping customers visualize how different flooring options would look in their actual spaces. Traditional sample viewing often failed to convey the full impact of a flooring choice in a real room environment. The frontend interfaces needed to bridge this gap with realistic visualization capabilities.
Photo Upload & Processing: Built user-friendly interfaces for uploading room photos with automatic flooring area detection and image optimization for the best visualization results.
Digital Flooring Replacement: Created frontend controls that worked with Renoworks' advanced backend algorithms to digitally replace existing flooring with catalog products, matching perspective, lighting, and scale.
Product Catalog Integration: Developed comprehensive product browsing interfaces featuring hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl, and carpet options with advanced filtering by material type, color, and price range.
Real-time Visualization: Implemented instant preview functionality allowing users to see immediate results as they switched between different flooring options in their uploaded room photos.
Scene Library: Provided curated high-quality room photographs covering various architectural styles for users who preferred pre-existing spaces over their own photos.
The Floor Project successfully transformed the flooring selection experience by providing realistic visualization capabilities:
Enhanced Decision Confidence: Customers could see exactly how flooring choices would look in their spaces, reducing returns and increasing satisfaction.
Improved Sales Process: Retailers gained interactive consultation tools that differentiated them from competitors using traditional sample-based approaches.
Reduced Purchase Uncertainty: Visualization in actual room contexts eliminated much of the guesswork traditionally associated with flooring purchases.
This project demonstrated how specialized frontend development could address industry-specific challenges, creating significant value for both consumers and businesses in the home renovation market.
